Almost ready for school

Aster is twelve weeks old, which is the age to start formal training, according to Wolters.   As she lays at my feet chewing on the rind of a horse hoof, I find myself doubting her abilities.  Though she already knows the commands SIT and ALRIGHT, sometimes COME and KENNEL, she just doesn't seem to be ready to learn these things "at all costs".  That's not quite the truth, but almost.  And that's the problem, too many puppy owners aren't willing to push their dogs at this age.  They let them get away with murder and then wonder why the dog won't stop chewing on things when it's a year old.
